Betting Companies Grow Music Sponsorship

30 September 2026

Betting and gambling companies are pumping millions into the music industry through high-profile sponsorships, funding tours, festivals, and artist partnerships. UK betting giants Bet365 and Sky Bet generated revenues of £3.39 billion and £2 billion respectively in 2023, financial filings show, providing marketing muscle to drive their music strategies.

The partnerships run from Pragmatic Play's sponsorship of the Tomorrowland festival to MGM Resorts backing Imagine Dragons' world tour. For the organizations, the deals offer a prime opportunity to reach younger audiences.

"The music industry has become a key marketing channel for betting and gambling brands," says Viberate, an influential music insights firm. "In today's competitive landscape, music sponsorships are one way to get a share of the public's attention."

Title sponsorships are a mainstay.

That level of investment gives brands the naming rights to the entire event, plus placement on ticketing platforms, venue signage, and broadcast coverage. Other industry sources report these deals also frequently include exclusive category rights, VIP hospitality allocations, branded stage areas, and first-right activation zones.

Sponsorship partners can also buy out multi-city concert series, helping smaller acts expand their geographic reach and upgrade their production budgets. Gambling operators are growing into the role.

Hard Rock Casino, in particular, has been aggressive in growing its portfolio. Their partnership with Maroon 5 combines everything: tour funding, branded merchandise, exclusive performances, and integrated marketing efforts.

That said, gamblers and music insiders are increasingly sensitive to the pitfalls. Music sponsorships are now scrutinised not just for their marketing power, but also for market legitimacy, audience fit, regulatory compatibility, and measurable performance, according to Viberate.

Moreover, sponsorship deals can take on many forms. Leading campaigns have included event signage, stage branding, sponsored content, hospitality packages, digital impressions, and approved social media posts. This marketing layer matches promotions inside the casino, designed to spur registration, deposits, and activity.

The difference is subtle. The core of a sponsorship is built on brand exposure, content, events, and hospitality - with audience access a core benefit. The core of player-based casino promotion doesn't seek these intangible benefits, instead it targets activity. The designs follow.

At the same time, betting laws in the UK have tightened. The British regulator has tightened restrictions on sports betting sponsorships and is considering restricting deals from operators without a UK license. A crackdown on front-of-shirt sponsorships for Premier League clubs is reported to have slashed revenue by £67 million.

Still, the threat of a crackdown hasn't deterred these service firms. They expect the deals to work, and have deep cashflows to finance aggressive bets. For artists, the cash and cachet is too good to ignore, in a cut-throat market.
